Completing goals is a crucial element for developing grit. One way to keep your goals on track is to use a WOOP. WOOP stands for WISH, OUTCOME, OBSTACLE, PLAN. Our new office intern Ibeth has her own WOOP for the upcoming school year:
Wish: My wish is to successfully complete my internship and through it gain many important skills such as communication, office, and leadership skills. I also hope to make many important contributions to Project VOYCE because I have become inspired by the work they do.
Outcome: When I achieve my wish, I will be able to apply the skills I gained when I’m working to obtain a business degree–hopefully at DU or UNC. My dream is to eventually own a business and those skills are essential to my success. By making contributions to PV I will be able to network with many amazing people, while at the same time contributing to the success of their mission.
Obstacles: Like with any other goals, I realize I will face multiple obstacles along the way. One of the biggest ones is time management. Since I am still a high school student as well as a volleyball player, it can sometimes be hard to make everything fit into my schedule and to keep up with all of my tasks.
Plan: My plan is to make sure I plan my time wisely. I also plan to organize my priorities, so I am able to keep track of what’s most important & keep everything organized. I strongly believe that time management and organization are key to achieving my wish.
