With administrative changes and a swift return to school, Aurora Central is off to a slow start. Of the eight hired trainees from the school, seven have returned to Aurora Central for this school year and their commitment has not wavered despite prior extracurricular and athletic commitments.

Between the students' goals for the partnership, the vision of former principal as well as new administration, the tasks we intend to focus on and accomplish include but are not limited to restorative justice, student engagement and school culture. Students have already begun contributing ideas to possible ways to plug in and become more embedded in the school as a Project VOYCE cohort. They are in the process of revamping the restorative justice practices set forth by the new administration, as well as working with Mr. Price and the leadership group in order to reach more students and implement more strategies of leadership and development overall.

With homecoming week in full effect next week, students are hoping to gain some more exposure on Project VOYCE and to get more of the student body open to exploring and discussing social justice, restorative practices and youth-adult partnerships. These are just a few components that the students feel are a part of what needs improving and what will lead to a more effective and engaging environment. The Project VOYCE staff has been invited to do a short engaging activity during the peprally to introduce the organization to the school. Our two staff members at ACHS, Uche Oyaha and Shontel M. Lewis, have eagerly been plannning an engaging and fun activity for the students and cannot wait to see it unfold.

Lets Go Trojans!!!!
