PV chapter team students spent MLK day attending a student screening for Selma. Students wrote personal reflections on the film:
"Selma was brutal--but I appreciated that another black history film did not focus on the darkness and negativity, but rather on the strength, grit, resilience and love!" Uche Ohaya
"Back then race was a big issue but was known and out there. Nowadays, it is still big, but under the surface. People have forgotten the meaning of MLK's "dream." Isaiah Singleton
"This movie taught me things about our history that my history classes failed to do!" Maria Rodriguez
"Some moments--like at the beginning--made me so angry I wanted to jump out of my seat and yell at the screen!" Leandre Smith
