Collaborate. Create safe spaces. Be authentic. These are few things PV Training Director and advocate extraordinaire Shelby Gonzales Parker recommends for people who want to use their voice at the Capitol to promote policy change. Shelby was featured on a panel at "Speak Up for Kids," an event sponsored by Colorado Children's Campaign, Children's Hospital and Clayton Early Learning Center. Speak Up brought together legislators, nonprofit leaders and community members to discuss advocacy strategies for supporting youth in Colorado. Shelby highlighted the importance of giving students a voice and encouraging legislators to "work WITH us, not FOR us!"
