"Neighborhood" -by Uche Ohaya...
Common unity is the assumption that is made Daring solidity is instead the avenue paved Community and solidarity is more than just numbers With a plethora of beings through successes and blunders Taking back what is ours, through creation and pride A neighborhood with stories of segregation and divide Generations over time sharing energy for the uplift Together we stand as we produce and share this gift Giving circles, forming bonds, artistic approach Come as you are without stepping on toes We convene in solidarity and continue to make good Appreciation is key with art and our precious neighborhood
"Home" -by Uche Ohaya
Where the heart rests is where we call home Community and vision of this place sets the tone Love was sure the answer While simplicity was key Revolutionizing the movement Reppin with integrity
Consciousness was evident through and through the generations Sunshine in the atmosphere like records playin from the Temptations Pursuit of happiness was everything Children playin outside Jobs slow but still available More than livin jus to get by
Struggle was a factor but people still cared Holding each other down like there was nothing at all to fear Solidarity was the lens Happy with the push and pull Home is where the heart is The glass always half full
